COMMUNITY

Our Approach to Community

We are, first and foremost, a community pub.
For generations, pubs have sat at the heart of British culture, places where stories are shared, friendships are formed, and strangers become familiar faces. Our ethos is that a great pub is never just about what’s poured behind the bar. It’s about belonging.
At Prince of Peckham, we believe community is built through warmth, openness and human connection. We want this to be a space where everyone feels welcome, somewhere you can arrive exactly as you are, find your people, and feel at home.
But our purpose extends beyond our four walls. We believe pubs can be a force for social good, creating meaningful impact, strengthening communities, and supporting the people who live within them.
Whether you come for conversation, celebration, comfort or connection, our doors (and our tables are open to all!)

Chatty Patty

In April 2026, Prince of Peckham launched Chatty Patty to help tackle loneliness and social isolation.
Hosted every Wednesday from 12pm–2pm, Chatty Patty is a guided social space designed to make connection feel easy, relaxed and accessible. There’s no pressure, no expectations, just a welcoming environment where people can meet, spend time together, and feel part of something.
Whether you come alone or with others, everyone is welcome, no sign-ups, just show up.
We believe meaningful connection starts with simply showing up, sharing space, feeling seen, and being around others in a safe and welcoming environment.
To sponsor, collaborate or run a Chatty Patty from your pub, please email chattypatty@princeofpeckham.co.uk or call 07909544902.
Community Initiatives
Community sits at the centre of everything we do at Prince of Peckham. Beyond being a pub, we strive to create a welcoming space that brings people together, supports local causes, and provides opportunities for connection, creativity and care. Through initiatives like Chatty Patty, our weekly social space tackling loneliness and isolation, to community yoga sessions, poetry nights, book clubs and accessible creative events, we aim to make our venue a place where everyone feels they belong.
We’re proud to support our local community through discounted and free venue hire for community groups, affordable kids meals during school holidays, NHS and student discounts, free period products behind the bar, and partnerships with organisations including South East London Mind and Southwark Children’s & Families Services.
We also champion local talent and grassroots culture by supporting homegrown selectors, small faith communities, youth and employment initiatives, and nurse and NHS worker meet-ups. Alongside this, our kitchen partner WMCJ donates over 6,000 meals each year to local food banks, helping provide practical support where it’s needed most.
For us, the community is about creating spaces where people feel seen, supported and connected, both inside and outside the pub.
